"Collaboration: Expanding the Musical Landscape" with Scott Foster

Scott Foster explores how collaboration and casting a wide musical net can inspire and advance musicianship. His session will focus on how working on a variety of musical collaborations has given him a chance to stay true to his musical roots while expanding his musical horizons. Working with a vast array of artists continues to widen and develop and widen his musical palette. Scott will share past performances that reveal different settings, styles, and musical landscapes.

Spark your musical imagination with CMC faculty as they delve into stories about the inspiration and influences that have guided them as professional musicians and teachers at CMC. CMC Sessions: Inspiration & Influences is an eight-part on-line series hosted by CMC Cultural Traditions and Winds/Brass Departments, providing up-close and personal stories about the potent influences and galvanizing experiences that make up the “musical life.” Told through compelling demonstrations, musical examples, and creative tips, the sessions will provide participants with inspiration on their musical journeys.
Community Music Center (CMC), founded in 1921, is a nonprofit music school and performance space with branches in the Mission and Richmond Districts. Community Music Center makes high-quality music accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, regardless of financial means. CMC offers the largest tuition assistance program of its kind in the country, serving more than 3,000 students with music lessons, classes and other programs. The school offers in-person and online music lessons and classes in jazz, blues, Latin, pop, folk, rock, and classical.
