The D-42 is an amazing instrument in itself. The grain and colour of the rosewood are hand picked and the Sitka spruce tops are selected by experienced Martin workers for the best sonic properties. The top of the D-42-MD gets the VTS-treatment which gives the guitar the tone of a guitar that has been played for decades – right out of the box! The carbon fiber bridge plate and the Liquid Metal bridge pins add further clarity.
Like every 42 model, the D-42-MD features abalone purflings along the top and around the soundhole plus two snowflakes in the bridge. The headstock and fretboard are adorned by the intricate inlays that all 40s Modern Deluxe guitars share.
