Five European Union monitors initially reported killed by NATO air strikes in Bosnia crossed safely into Yugoslavia on Sunday.
From there, the three Spaniards, one Irishman and one Dutchman will be flown to their home countries.
With an escort of Spanish embassy personnel and the international press corps following closely, this white European Union estate car brought the five E-U monitors safely to Belgrade.
The five E-U monitors were reported killed in the NATO air strikes on Bosnian Serbs that began early Wednesday. But later they were shown on Bosnian Serb TV, and the Spanish Defence Ministry announced that they were safe.
The air strikes came in the aftermath of a shell explosion in the centre of Sarajevo on August 28 that killed 38 people and wounded scores.
The five arrived at the Spanish Residency in Belgrade and were greeted by the Spanish Ambassador.
They appeared to be in good condition, but it still was not clear what had happened to them while they were on Bosnian Serb territory.
Among the five is Fernando Sanchez Rau, head of the EU monitoring team. The team is expected to return to their respective home countries as soon as possible.
