Albert Fish (1870-1936) was an American serial killer and cannibal who was known for his sadomasochistic tendencies and horrific crimes against children. He had a troubled childhood and was reportedly abused both physically and mentally. Fish committed his first known murder in 1928 and went on to kill at least three other children over the next several years. He was known to send letters to the families of his victims, describing in graphic detail how he had tortured and killed their children.

Fish's crimes were particularly shocking because of the gruesome nature of his acts. He would often mutilate and eat parts of his victims' bodies, and he claimed to enjoy the taste of human flesh. Fish was eventually caught and convicted of his crimes, and he was executed in the electric chair in 1936. His case is considered one of the most disturbing and depraved in American history.
