In this video, Steve with Upstart Epoxy explains the importance of sealing your projects before conducting a flood coat. It is important to use a little bit of tabletop Epoxy Resin to seal the wood that you are working with to ensure no bubbles will arise and ruin your piece. If you notice that bubbles consistently arise When doing a flood coat this is because the piece was not properly sealed and can not only be frustrating but it can become expensive if you have to keep applying more and more epoxy. When working with wood and epoxy it is very common for natural pieces of wood to have air pockets within them. Whether this be from grub holes, knots, or just natural formations within the wood that are susceptible to being filled with air it is in your best interest to fill them in with epoxy so you don’t have to worry about deviations in the flood coat. Let us know what you thought about these tips and if you learned anything!
