I was using an old 2nd gen Core i5 with HD2000 graphics on an Optiplex 790 running windows 10 to do low bitrate livestreaming. It was working fine for several years until the CPU fan started running loud (after a few weeks the power supply failed so this could have been related). So I decided to to switch my OBS encoding from software to quicksync to decrease CPU demand and therefore a cooler CPU so the fan would stay quiet.
Quicksync did not show up as an encoding option in OBS 30 so I knew drivers needed to be installed to run on Windows 10. Intel second gen is not supported by default in Win 10.
I installed the Catalyst UnifL Driver from leshcatlabs.net using the windows 8 version in the install folder (don't use this).

After installing, I fired up OBS. Quicksync still did not show up as an encoding option. Poking around the various forums I saw something about some OBS subsystem changes. I rolled back to OBS 29.1.3.

Now Quicksync shows up as an encoding option. However it threw an error when I tried to use it. I used the Windows 7 driver in the install folder and it works like a champ.
Hope this helps anyone else using old hardware.
