Team 34 (Omar Eltoutongy, Omar Tarek, and Mokhtar Khaled @mathematicsislife9234 ) at the Faculty of Engineering Ain Shams University presents our final exam project for the course Design of Mechatronics 1: an automated production line prototype.
In this project, we designed and built a system that could efficiently and accurately sort and package various products. The system consisted of a feeding mechanism with a solenoid, a conveyor with an infrared sensor mount, and a cartesian robot with a sensor on its x-axis to differentiate between different types of products.
We also implemented a graphical user interface using QT software and C++, which allowed operators to monitor the states of the system in real-time and ensure that everything was running smoothly. The microcontroller used was an Arduino Mega, and we utilized Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) in the coding of the system to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
