TRANSCRIPT: My name is Dr. Jeff Feldman, I'm associate professor in the section of Neuropsychology in the department of Neurology.
I'm a clinical health psychologist and director of our Center for Integrated Medicine.
My clinical specialties are cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation training, stress management, and self-hypnosis training.
I became a clinical health psychologist with an increasing awareness that psychological issues affect people's health generally, not just their mental health.
My patient care philosophy is to collaborate both with the patient and with the treating physicians involved so that we have a team approach to patient care.
I most enjoy helping patients to better manage chronic conditions, especially chronic pain and to adapt and adjust to what is often a changed life circumstance so that they build a better quality of life.
Being a patient myself, has helped me to have a much better feel for how difficult often it can be for patients, especially when there’s no easy cure to their condition.
Wake Forest Baptist Health provides both a wide range of specialty care, expertise in a number of areas that is not found elsewhere- as well as an increasingly collaborative team approach to patient care.
Some facts that relate about me- related to what I consider fun is that I enjoy tennis, table tennis, and I'm still at this age trying to learn to be an athlete.
