One of the first ever music videos I watched as a kid was "Name" by the Goo Goo Dolls. I was 9. Too young to appreciate the lyrics, I still loved the chill rock sounds coming through the TV via MTV. A few years later, they released "Iris", which was my favorite song in the world at that time. I know I'm not alone in that statement! Like any other kid of the 90s, I remember sitting by the radio and waiting for the song to come on so I could record it. I couldn't wait to play it on my Walkman whenever and wherever I wanted. I'm pretty sure I begged my Mom to get me 'Dizzy Up The Girl' for Christmas. Last night, my good friend Mike and I saw them do a 20 year anniversary show for the album at The Fillmore in Charlotte. I cannot believe it has been 20 years! They played the entire album in sequence (the way an album should play... duh) as a first set. Their second set was other hits they've had throughout their 30+ year career. A two and a half hour show and I captured nearly twelve minutes of highlight footage. Most of this was standing in front of the FOH engineer for best sound quality (pro tip)!
