This DIY is a super fun project for anyone doing up their home on a budget. Using some spray paint and a Cricut machine to create bedside tables that look stylish and expensive. Each one comes to under £40, which is super affordable. I hope you enjoy this tutorial, see what you need and the steps below on how to make them. ♡ What you need:
- X2 Bedside Tables (these are from eBay) £30.99 each - [ Ссылка ]
- Cricut Explore Air 2 Maker - [ Ссылка ]
- Gold Spray Paint for wood / Furniture (Homebase)
- Cardboard or protective sheet for painting
- Gold Cricut Vinyl - [ Ссылка ]
- Craft knife
- Scissors
- Cricut Accessories (Hobby Craft) - [ Ссылка ]
- Transfer Paper
♡ What to do:
1. Un-box the bedside tables and take out the legs.
2. Spray paint the legs on a protective surface. Start with a light coat, leave 20 minutes and then repeat again with a thicker coat. Leave to dry for 24 hours. (Instructions may vary depending on spray paint type or brand, please check label).
3. On Cricut Design space select the 'Flower Pattern Coffee Table' and open it on 'customise', resize to the width and length of draw front.
4. Cut off the amount you don't need, the draw front measures 17.5 inches, so I made the design that length, with about an inch excess just in case all round.
5. Prepare the cutting mat by sticking down the vinyl colour side up.
6. Follow machine instructions to cut the vinyl, as it's such large pieces each one took 15-20 mins to cut. (See getting started video here - [ Ссылка ] )
7. Once cut in the machine, I sliced them into smaller sections to easily manage the transfer process onto the draw front.
8. Weed the excess vinyl not needed using the weeder tool.
9. Using the transfer paper, peel off the clear sticker side and place on the vinyl, scraping with pressure to stick it down.
10. Start to peel away the plastic, taking the vinyl design with it.
11. Once all the vinyl design is stuck to the transfer tape, careful line up and stick to the draw. Again use the scraper and carefully take off.
12. Once this is done, line up the other pieces and trim the excess with a craft knife.
13. It is optional but you can seal the draw with a gloss or varnish (clear of course) Which I will do at a later date.
14. Build your bedside cabinets and they are ready to use!
Hope this was helpful, I am so proud of them!
TOTAL MAKE TIME: 24 Hours
TOTAL COST: Roughly £40 per bedside cabinet
