The 50/50 Bag is built for the Pacific Northwest. It is our choice for extra wet or humid conditions. We designed the 50/50 with hydrophobic Nikwax treated down top quilt to maximize the warmth and pack-ability of the bag, while a layer of Primaloft Synthetic Insulation rides on the bottom to better protect against sweat, ground moisture and condensation. Synthetic insulation does not compress like down, offering more protection from the cold hard ground.
All of our bags come in 3 different sizes: short (up to 5'6"), regular (up to 6'0"), and long (up to 6'6").
We rate our bags according to the season (1S, 3S, 4S). In our experience we found temp ratings are subjective and sometimes misleading, due to the fact that the temp rating has more to do with survival than comfort. If you sleep cold or are worried about it, go with the 4-Season bags.
To Maximize the capability of the 50/50, we recommend using an insulated sleeping pad with a higher R-Value in colder climates. Sleeping pads are just as important to staying warm through the night as your sleeping bag. The ground sucks up a lot of heat.
Grande fit: slightly larger fit for tossing around, side sleeping, or just being a bigger human. We noticed a lot of people like more room to roll around or sleep on their side.
When it comes time to wash your bag, machine wash, use cold water in a large capacity, front load washer using the gentle cycle. Use NIKWAX brand DOWN WASH DIRECT to clean and restore the water repellency and insulation of the down fill. DO NOT use conventional detergents. Rinse thoroughly. Tumble dry on low heat. Remove promptly and fluff with hands. Allow to dry completely before use or storage. Hang or store flat. DO NOT store in compression bag.
