Axe enjoys starting fights with large numbers of people with beserkers call and counter helix - the more the better - so creep summoning heroes like natures prophet and enigma are in big trouble. Equally, if your a hero that likes to operate with low HP - like huskar - culling blade will really hurt. Remember, with exception to battle hunger, all of Axe's abilities go through magic immunity - so juggernaut and lifestealer should be warned.

With all those great strengths, Axe has some pretty serious weaknesses, the biggest one being his lack of mobility. Beserkers call, counter helix, and culling blade all require Axe to be right next to you. If you are ranged and can slow axe - especially with damage over time - like viper - then Axe is seriously in trouble.

Remember also that Axe is a textbook tank/initiator, so classic anti-tank heroes like Outworld Devourer, Necrophos, and Timbersaw will make short work of him.
