BR Large Logo "Split-Box" 37025 heads through a grey and damp Bamfurlong on the afternoon of Saturday 28th November 2020. With classmate 37254 on the rear the pair were working a test train from Derby's R.T.C to Carlisle (via the Cumbrian Coast) and are coasting along the slow lines past the site of the long gone Bamfurlong station. The Class 37s were running early and approaching a yellow signal ahead of a booked wait at Wigan Springs Branch and for a change 025 was leading :)

This would normally be a Tuesday job but that didn't run this week so it was a nice surprise to get the gen late last night that it was running on the Saturday instead. Ironically we had better weather on Tuesday than today... I have done some magic and wizardry to it in post to make it a better video as it was actually a little foggy with some drizzle adding to a whiteout effect. I don't like doing that to be honest but felt it was worth it in this instance.

37025 is on long term hire with Colas and as such still sports British Rail "Large Logo" livery which really looks the part on a Class 37, especially one with split headcode boxes. The logo also sports its Highland Stag for its "Highland Rail" branding from its time thrashing around the Scottish Highlands and also proudly displays its "Inverness TMD" nameplate. This is one of three Class 37s that are currently with Colas which I have had the pleasure of driving, nothing to add really I just thought I'd mention that ;)

Oh, just one more thing (in the words of Columbo) - These were routed via Earlestown and Newton Le Willows then after joining the WCML at Lowton Jn they almost immediately crossed to the slows at Golborne Jn and it was possible to hear them thrashing away as they accelerated along the slows. Its not an exaggeration but I was momentarily concerned that my live tracking tools were broken and lagging thanks to the awesome noise these English Electric beasts can produce...
