Funeral director Ryan Bernard offers a unique service in Memphis, Tennessee, that allows loved ones to visit the deceased without ever leaving their car. With COVID-19 creating the need for social distancing, their business is booming.
“We can’t keep up! The phone is blowing up. We usually keep the drive-thru open for three to four hours per family, but we’re only keeping it open for an hour and a half now to keep up with the surge,” Beverly Webb, a representative at R. Bernard Funeral, said. “We’ve had to hire additional people to keep the traffic moving. It gets all backed up onto the main road.”
