Presented by Asim Dietrich, Chaired by Scott Greeves
At some point in their careers, many attorneys are likely to encounter clients with diminished decision-making capacity due to a disability. Clients with diminished capacity often have unique needs and require accommodations within the attorney-client relationship. This program will provide attorneys with information about the ethical rules related to representing clients with diminished capacity and provide attorneys with strategies to address ethical concerns when representing such clients. This program will also inform attorneys about the requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act to provide reasonable accommodations to clients with disabilities and provide practical tips to ensure that clients receive effective accommodations throughout the representation.
