We get a lot of questions from viewers about making a print using two colors of ink. When it comes to our printing presses, one ink color can be used per impression.
In this video, Jared demonstrates making a two color finished print using a 3x5 Kelsey Excelsior tabletop printing press. The two electrotypes used for this print were made 90-100 years ago and would be used for printing Christmas greeting cards.
Also shown in this video is the inking process for first the Pantone Red Pepper oil base ink, cleaning the press, and then inking the press in Pantone Green rubber base ink. This might be one of the most difficult prints we have shown so far.
