Call The Midwife's Helen George has kicked off her stint in the UK return of The King and I musical, following speculation she could be leaving the much loved series.Call The Midwife star Helen George has reprised her role as Anna Leonowens in the West End show The King and I, opposite co-star Darren Lee.
Pictures from the big-budget show currently at the Dominion Theatre show the actress in character as a school teacher, for the royal offspring of the King of Siam.
Discussing her role with The Sunday Times last year, the 39-year-old said: “There’s a strength to her. She has to make this work.
"And it’s something that I have lived through. I am a single mother who has to be financially responsible for both of my children.The King and I is Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical romance has returned to the UK following its sold out season at The London Palladium.
On stage until March 2, the show will feature songs such as Whistle a Happy Tune, Getting to Know You, and Shall We Dance.
Helen's role comes amid ongoing rumours she could be stepping down from Call The Midwife as her long-serving character Trixie Franklin. #celebrity #trending #august
