Every day, Canadians are exposed to toxic chemicals linked to prostate and breast cancer simply by touching receipts.
In order to better understand and illustrate the risks facing cashiers in Canada, Environmental Defence, in partnership with the authors of the best-selling book Slow Death by Rubber Duck, conducted an experiment to measure the total exposure to bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenol S (BPS) after handling receipts for the equivalent of a full eight-hour shift.
And the results were alarming. Find out the full results at: environmentaldefence.ca/receipts
