Kesha gives heartfelt speech on gun control and her Dr. Luke lawsuit during concert

The pop singer relates with the audience about going through hard times as she takes a political stance and voices her opinion on gun control to her fans.

She has fought a bitter battle with producer Dr. Luke and Sony and on Wednesday night in Philadelphia, Kesha joined the fight for gun control.
The Tik Tok singer took the stage at a Democratic National Convention event in Philadelphia hosted by former congresswoman and gun violence victim Gabby Giffords.
'I don't know if you guys know what I am going through,' she told the crowd. 'I'm going through a lawsuit. It's f***ing horrible.'
The singer, 29, has been embroiled in a long-running dispute with Lukasz Gottwald, 42, whom she has accused in a lawsuit of drugging, raping and abusing her.
He has always denied the allegations.
And she shared her pain with those present at the event, telling them: 'I feel like if you're a human being, you go through pain and you go through hurt. And every single one of us knows that emotion.'
As she spoke about her ordeal and its impact on her during Gabby Giffords' Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC event, she brought up the reason she is throwing her star power behind the gun control lobby.
'We as a nation, we can't control who feels hurt. We can't control who feels pain, and we can't control what you do with the hurt and the pain and the anger,' she said.
'You can't control every single person and know how they're gonna deal with things and know if they're gonna pick up a weapon,' Kesha continued. 'What we can control is who we give the f***ing weapons to.'
Back in February, a New York court ruled that Kesha was still under contract with the Sony label managed by Dr. Luke.
However, the contract doesn't preclude her from performing covers of other people's songs and she is currently on a mini tour.
'I'm playing songs you've never heard me play before and I may never play again,' she said in an Instagram post inviting her fans to come see her in Las Vegas.
'Only a couple of shows. So I'm going to see you there. It's purely for the f****n' love of rock and roll in my soul,' she said.
Ahead of her appearance in Philadelphia, Kesha posted an image of a gun firing flowers to her Instagram and wrote: 'Proud to stand with @gabbygiffords against the epidemic of gun violence in America.'
'We cannot ignore all of the mass shootings and daily lives lost to the lack of gun control in America. People keep throwing their hands up in defeat about this issue, but it’s not an option anymore. We need to address this with change immediately.' she stated.
