Each town in the Eastern Fjords has its own charm and individuality. Some are centers of fishing industry and others have more traditional industry sprung from the easy access to bountiful of electricity from the many hydro powerplants Iceland has.
The French made a strong impact in Fáskrúðsfjörður where the road signs are made out in French as well as in Icelandic.
Norwegian influence is easily detected in the Eskifjörður and Seydisfjörður architecture.
Interesting in particular to visit are f.ex. Seyðisfjordur, Bakkafjordur, Midfjordur and Vopnafjordur to name some.
