Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed this first cake video. I know that the video is quite long; however, it will be worth it in the end! I made this cake gluten-free and lactose-free but you don't have to do the same as me. You can simply substitute the gluten-free and lactose-free ingredients for the ones that you would normally use. For the cake batter:
345g (3 cups) gluten-free self-raising flour/normal self-raising flour
1 tsp of baking soda
10g (2 tbsp) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
115g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
400g (2 cups) granulated sugar
240ml (1 cup) vegetable oil
4 large eggs, separated
1 tbsp good quality vanilla extract
1 tsp white wine vinegar
Your preferred amount of red food colouring (paste or liquid)
240ml (1 cup) buttermilk
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
450g (16 ounces) lactose-free cream cheese/normal cream cheese
115g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
540g (4 and 1/2 cups) icing sugar
1 tbsp lactose-free milk/normal milk
1 and 1/2 tsp good quality vanilla extract
2.5g (pinch) of salt
