There may NOT be a problem with your RCA cable !! Polish the tip of your tone arm for a better connection !!
--- There has been some concern with viewers about this method of cleaning. If you believe that using a Dremel tool is too evasive with your tone arm, do it by hand. Also, sometimes regular maintenance cannot keep up with the speed of aluminum oxidation, especially if 1200's are stored in the garage or night club where humidity is high. Aluminum is one of the most reactive of metals and does not take long to oxidize. A good way to combat this is to buy some Calcium Chloride (DampRid) from Lowes or Home Depot (found by household cleaners). Get a small container and fill the bottom with it. Set the container on your 1200 and cover it well with plastic (or simply put into the middle of coffin by the mixer). The more air-tight the 1200's are sealed the better this method works. Write a Note and attach it to your coffin or 1200 that the container is in there .You don't want to accidently move it with a container of water inside...very messy. Calcium Chloride will "suck" any moisture out of the air right into the cup and will not let go of it. Rusults will vary depending on humidity. Check on the container often to make sure it's not overflowing with water. This method is great for tools or other metal items that may rust easily while in storage. I hope this helps.
