This yoga class is designed to help stretch your body and release tension you are holding. Begin in the restorative posture of reclined butterfly as you rest your hands on your body, connecting deeply with the rhythm and quality of your breath. After focusing on 3 part yogic breathing for the first three minutes of class, stretch your hips with reclined windshield wipers, before landing in a twist. You will next deepen into hip openers with reclined pigeon and wind removing pose on both sides. While still on your back, you will stretch the hamstrings and ankles before opening the front of the body and strengthening the back of the body in bridge. Massage the spine and open the inner thighs in happy baby pose. After making your way to a seat, stretch the spine in all directions. Thread the needle and heart melting pose will stretch the upper body and shoulders. Stretch and strengthen the back side of the body in a wide armed cobra. Extended Childs pose precedes camel and rabbit. Enjoy long holds in seated straddle and seated forward folds before returning to where we began with windshield wipers before Savasana.
