Setting out to find a new home in the 18th century was a dangerous and lonely enterprise for many. There were few established roads, few places to re-supply and few laws on the frontier. Dangers abounded on every hand from not only natural predators but also from the hostile and warring tribes that inhabited the region.
Note: This is a work of fiction. While some of the names, places and dates are historical fact, the story line itself is meant solely for entertainment and educational purposes. Any other resemblance to any actual person, living or dead, business establishments, events or locales is entirely as part of the fictional story.
A special thank you to the YMCA at Camp Kern, Ohio for letting me use their cabin!
