Oversampling and aliasing are definitely part of the digital music production process even though they have a small impact.. in this video I am giving a quick intro to this topics and break it down in just 2.5 minutes. At the end of the day you don't have to dive super deep into this topic but it's still useful to have a ruff idea about the reasons behind using oversampling. Dont worry if you have to watch the video more than one time. there is a lot of info in there ;) There are other small upsides to oversampling which you should totally research if you want to learn more about digital audio.
