This is the original RKO Radio Pictures opening and closing titles to the 1938 Disney cartoon Ferdinand the Bull, transferred from the US VHS release How the Best Was Won (1985). The original headshot of Ferdinand was refilmed for the Buena Vista reissue. The reissue titles then have all the flower backgrounds and all the lettering remade. In the original shown here, the flower backgrounds exactly match up between titles. The third opening title in the reissue omits the RKO reference (of course) and also says “Color by Technicolor” instead of “Photographed in Technicolor.” The closing title’s lettering is very different in the reissue, where, among other things, the ”Ferdinand” style from the opening is used for ”The End.”
