I have had a good time building and using the 833A triode amplifier on 20 meters but the gain of the 833A is low and the output typically runs around 550 watts for 100 watts input or about 7.4 dB gain. Changing out the 833A for a 3-1000Z will give me about 1200 watts output for the same input power or about 11 dB gain. Maybe I just want another RF amplifier project...
