A properly fitted helmet is the most effective way to prevent a head injury resulting from a bicycle crash. In this short video, Ellen Jacobson, vice president of the Sparks Kiwanis Club and an active member of the Kiwanis Bike Program, shows us how to fit a helmet.
A few of Jacobson's tips include:
The bike helmet should fit comfortably, but not be too small or too big.
The helmet should be worn level and cover your forehead.
The straps should always be fastened. Make sure the straps are adjusted so they're snug enough that you can't pull or twist the helmet around on your head.
