Despite advice from friends in aviation that ground instructor ratings wouldn't lead to good job prospects or pay, I pursued it as it was my only viable option to legally work in aviation at that time. Ultimately, I ended up teaching ground school to Boeing 767 and 757 pilots at a cargo airline, enjoying a full-time salary and the chance to talk about aviation daily.
