There are those that make something extremely difficult look impossibly easy. Mark Yamanaka is that kind of guy. There’s a falsetto technique, or as it is known in Hawaiian, leo ki'eki'e, where people use their upper range (high voice) when singing. It takes an enormous amount of skill and practice to perfect this technique. Mark makes it look effortless as he transitions between his normal voice and falsetto when performing the song “Kanaka Waiwai.”
Joining Mark on stage at the historic Hawaii Theater is Sean Naleimaile for some beautiful background vocals and smooth bass playing.
