Just behind Queenstown is an incredibly rewarding alpine hike to the summit of Ben Lomond.

Tips if you're doing this:

1. Bring enough water. There is basically none on trail.
2. Be reasonably fit.
3. Leave plenty of time to get back while it's still light.
4. If there could be snow or ice, be prepared and experienced enough. Seriously. It could get pretty dangerous.
5. There are some big Goats on this trail. Not sure why I added that.
