This video is a profile of Mary Katherine Hayes, M.D., an Associate Attending Radiation Oncologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Hayes specializes in treating breast cancer. She discusses her career at the Hospital and a technique for treating breast cancer known as partial breast radiation therapy, where a balloon is placed at the tumor site (during or after surgery to remove the tumor) and then filled with radiation to destroy the nearby cancer cells and prevent cancer from returning.
