Horst and graben fault:-

Horst fault:-

- Tentional crustal force are responsible for the formation of Horst fault.

- Horst of large size give rise to block mountain.

- When two parallel and normal fault hade away from one another and the rock bed between them is uplifted to form a ridge, the structur is called Horst fault.






Graben fault:-
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
- It is also known as rift fault.

- Tentional crustal force are responsible for the formation of graben fault.

- Graben of large extend are called rift valley.

- When two parallel and normal fault hade towards each other and the rocks bed between them are thrown downward with influence of gravity , forming a topographic
low called graben fault.
