Joseph Vijay, known as Thalapathy Vijay by his large youth fan base, had filed a civil lawsuit against 11 people, including his father SA Chandrasekar and his mother Shoba.
The lawsuit, filed in a city court, stated that no one should use Vijay's name for gathering the public or to hold any meetings.
The issue began with his father SA Chandrasekar claiming that Vijay should enter politics, and even took steps to register a party in Vijay's name.
Vijay's father announced the name of his relative Padmanabhan as the party President, Shoba as the Treasurer, while he was to hold the post of General Secretary.
