பொன்னியின் செல்வன் கொடுத்த கல்கியின் நிஜ வாழ்க்கை கதை! Krishnamurthy alias 'Kalki' was born on September 9th, 1899 in Buddhamangalam village of Tanjore district. He is a famous Tamil writer. He has written 35 volumes of short stories, novels, essays, travelogues and biographies. Ponni's Selvan Pudinam written by him is very popular.
Kalki was born on September 9, 1899 in a Brahmin family in Pattamangalam near Mayiladuthurai in Thanjavur district. Parents are Ramasamy Iyer, seamstress.He is studious by nature. He has a good memory. He memorized Vedic mantras at the age of eight. He studied in Mayuram Municipal High School. Later he went to study at Trichy National College. The Non-Cooperation Movement started in 1920 as per the Nagapuri Congress Resolution. Students had to leave the college and Krishnamurthy also left the college. Mahatma Gandhi, Rajaji and Dr. Rajan were ideal leaders for him. In 1921, when Mahatma Gandhi launched the Non-Cooperation Movement, he was inspired by his ideas and joined the Indian National Congress.
Mr. V.K. On their invitation, he went to work in Nava Shakti magazine. It was then that Kalki got married to Mangai Nallal alias Rukmini. They had two children named Rajendran and Anandhi.
Kalkiku Rajaji, D.K.C. Got the friendship of such great people. At that time S.S. Vasan brought Ananda Vikatan with Puduppolivo. Kalki became an assistant teacher. Along with the nickname 'Kalki', she also used the nicknames Ra.Ki, Karnataka and Tamil Theene. Kalki wrote the epic poem 'Ponniin Selvan' based on some of the information he found while reading Sadasiva Bandaram's 'Binikasa Chola Saritram'.
After working with "Ananda Vikatan" for nine years, he separated from Ananda Vikadan and launched a new magazine called "Kalki" together with Sathasivam. His historical novelties, articles, music reviews and editorials published in it became famous in history. Ponni's Selvan came as a sequel to Kalki. Ponniin Selvan is a fictionalized Tamil novel based on many real characters and some fictional characters from the famous story written by Kalki. It was serialized in Kalki Weekly from 1950-1955. Due to the public support for this novel, Kalki Magazine published the same novel serially in different periods. It has also been published as a separate book and has seen many editions. AD This historical novel is based on the Chola Empire around the year 1000. Ponni's Selvan has also been staged as a drama by various theater groups.
This book is divided into 5 parts namely New Flood, Windstorm, Killing Sword, Manimakudam and Tyaga Shigaram. It has more than 293 episodes in total.
The historical novel “Parthiban Kanam” was serialized in Kalki. Next “Vow of Sivakami” brought Kalki fame. “Alai Ozai” written by Kondu Kalki against the background of freedom struggle is popular among his social novels. This earned Kalki the Sahitya Akademi Award. In 1952-53 Kalki started writing “Ponniin Selvan” which was published as a serial for three years.
Kalki was very fond of Mahakavi Bharatiyar and went all out to build a Mani Mandapam in his memory at Ettayapuram. After that Mani Mandapam was built and inaugurated by Rajaji.
He also contributed to the Indian national liberation struggle through his works. Thyagabhoomi Budhinam was also made into a movie.
He died on 5th December 1954 at the age of 55. Kalki wrote thousands of pages while struggling with asthma throughout her life. Since 'Kalki's' works are nationalized, many of his works are available on many sites on the Internet.
