You must have seen the term cyber diplomacy being used repeatedly and increasingly by major actors in global politics. What is cyber diplomacy? It is a new dimension in international relations and can be regarded as the use of diplomatic resources to secure national interests. It is no secret that cyber operations have become a weapon of preference for many states in their pursuit of foreign policy goals. They present the ability to steal data and even support military operations at comparatively low risk. The cyber conflict has become a strategic issue that demands a concrete response by the government. For Switzerland, one of the most digitized and ICT-dependent countries in the world, this threat has a potentially wide reach.
