1. BETTER ENERGY'S EFFORTS TO ENHANCE THE POSITION OF PROSUMERS YIELD INITIAL OUTCOMES
The Government of Serbia implemented a new regulation in June to strengthen the legal framework for prosumers, a key focus of USAID's Better Energy project. Better Energy, in collaboration with Naled, has been instrumental in advocating for these improvements since its inception. This effort has led to a set of recommendations, among them those concerning network connection, calculation of access costs, and an increase in the proposed limit on installed plant capacity for households, were accepted and integrated into the revised Law on the Rational Use of Renewable Energy Sources.
2. BETTER ENERGY CONTINUES ITS TRADITION OF PARTICIPATING IN THE ANNUAL TOPS CONFERENCE
Better Energy representatives actively participated in the 22nd District Heating Plants Meetings and Scientific Conference TOPS in Zlatibor. The project's technical experts presented the concepts of heat prosumer and predictive management in district heating systems. The event also provided an opportunity to promote the current project activities and establish new and deepen existing partnerships with heating plants.
3. BETTER ENERGY PRESENTED ITS PILOT PROJECT AT THE 5TH GLOBAL DIGITAL DEVELOPMENT FORUM (GDDF)
Following the organizer’s invitation, USAID Better Energy participated in GDDF, the two-day global hybrid forum, and presented the successfully implement Cadaster of Individual Heating Devices in Pirot. GDDF brings together the digital development community to address challenges, explore solutions, and establish partnerships that leverage technology to advance global development.
