UPDATE JULY 25, 2015: 3Doodle came through with their replacement pen. I reported the problem and sent a link to this video on June 6, the problem was acknowledge by customer service on June 8, a new pen shipped out of Hong Kong about 5 weeks after than on July 17. It arrived at my address in the USA on July 24. This one works as advertised. I've doodled a bit and made the shapes that you can see in the picture at the link: [img][ Ссылка ]]. 2D doodling is a lot easier than 3D doodling but I'm sure practice makes perfect – I have to say that it is a lot of fun. I have to hand the pen over to my daughter now, who paid for it. I'll thank Sean and colleagues at 3Doodle for coming through with the promised replacement pen but I would advise them to set up some kind of system through which customers can check if their pen is part of the batch with known software flaw that cause my pen to malfunction so those customers can report it and get a working replacement pen as I did. FYI: the serial number on my pen that has the known software flaw is 3DOOD-V2-002-43658-2. The serial number of the new one that I receive that works great is 3DOOD-V2-004-05216-3.
UPDATE JULY 1, 2015: 3Doodler customer support e-mailed me that --after seeing the video-- it "seems to be the result of a known software flaw which the newer pens have corrected". They promised to send me a new one. I'll post another message here when I get it.
POST JUNE 6, 2015: I posted this video so that I could show the people at 3Doodler what the problem is. I've submitted a link to this video including a description of the problem to customer service and received a response within a day saying that they want to bring my pen in for repair/replacement and they ask if I can give my shipping address. After I supplied them with my shipping address I have not heard from them... :-( If you have the same issue (and I see from your comments that I'm not alone), please do write to customer service and if you want to include a link to this video, please do so.
