I mix some fun drone flying over some wild game with an ice shower under a tree in the wind. Once at the summit I have a giant open space to myself with a scene not usually associated with Southern California. Large pine trees, broom grass, rolling hills full of wildlife made this a very pleasant hike.

The SOTA (Summits On The Air) activation was pulled off seamlessly. Once I setup my Elecraft KX2 QRP portable ham radio station and antenna, I flipped the switch and made my contacts with other ham radio operators across the United States.

I also took the opportunity to play with the filters in the KX2. I show how to narrow the bandwidth and then shift it left of center to eliminate or reduce splatter from the more powerful signals out there (QRM).

Tahyo cruised around and ended up finding herself an antler shed to play with so between her and I we both really enjoyed this hike.
