If you'd like to learn more about what, exactly, was broken with Sonic R's lighting engine and how it got fixed, InvisibleUp wrote about the process: [ Ссылка ]
Tutorial:
Step 1: Install Sonic R. If "install.exe" won't work, try "setup.exe." If neither work, copy all files and folders from the CD and paste them in to a folder somewhere on your computer.
Step 2: Run the Sonic R Updater. When it asks you for a folder, tell it where you just put the Sonic R files.
Step 3: When the Sonic R Updater finishes, it will launch the Sonic R Mod Manager. In the Mod Manager, bring up the "Graphics" tab. This is mostly up to your preference, but I'd uncheck "Windowed" and "Force 4:3 Aspect Ratio." In the drop-down menu to the right, select "Native" to set the game to your monitor's resolution. Or, if you want, you can leave these options alone.
Step 4: I'd also recommend installing one of the sound mods listed above. You only need one, so don't install all three at the same time. Place the mod's folder in your Sonic R mods directory. If you still have the Mod Manager open, you may need to click "Refresh" to get the mod to show up. Check the box next to the mod to enable it, then click "Save."
Step 5: Launch Sonic R, but head in to the options first to set up your controls if you think you need to. If you're using a controller, I'd set "Action" (Jump) to the A button, "Accel" to the X button, "Camera" to the Y button, "L Brake" to the left bumper, and "R Brake" to the right bumper.
Step 6: You're done! Play the game!
