A herd of female European bison were recently joined by a bull from Germany as part of the Wilder Blean project. This joint initiative between Kent Wildlife Trust and Wildwood Trust aims to rewild ancient woodland in Kent, UK.
After several delays on the bull’s arrival, the herd is finally complete and now freely roam their habitat where they act as ecosystem engineers. Through their de-barking and dustbathing behaviour they will shape the woodlands and allow new wildlife to flourish.
