At Least 71 Killed in Israeli Airstrike On Refugee Camp Near Khan Younis: Gaza Officials

An Israeli airstrike targeted Hamas' military chief, Mohammed Deif, in Gaza on Saturday, according to Israeli Army Radio. However, the Israeli Military said that it is unclear whether Deif was killed in the strike or not. As per IDF, the Hamas military chief was hiding in a building in Al-Mawasi, west of the southern city of Khan Younis. A senior Hamas official did not confirm whether Deif had been present and called the Israeli allegations "nonsense." Deif was one of the masterminds of Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel that triggered the war in Gaza. Also, at least 71 Palestinians were killed and 289 sustained injuries in the humanitarian zone of Al-Mawasi where the airstrike took place.
