STORYLINE:
Former US President, George Bush, arrived in Pakistan on Monday to begin a tour of the earthquake-stricken region.
On Monday evening, he met with Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf in Islamabad to discuss the relief effort, following a severe quake last October.
Heavy snow and rain have forced the United Nations to suspend their lifesaving relief flights to the worst affected areas for the second day in a row.
Meanwhile, Pakistani officials said fresh landslides had blocked roads leading into the Neelum and Jhelum valleys in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, where hundreds of thousands of survivors remain heavily reliant on aid for food and shelter.
Relief workers are racing to ship as much aid as possible to Kashmir and the surrounding regions.
They fear the harsh winter weather will cause further hunger and misery, adding to the quake's death toll.
Some 87-thousand were killed and another 3.5 (m) million made homeless by the 7.6 magnitude quake on October 8.
