This video tutorial is a step-by-step guide/recipe to making the best version of scrumptious yoghurt at home. Even if you can’t cook at all, you’ll be able to watch this video and follow me. I share some tips and tricks that I have picked up after making my own yogurt at home for years. My family has always made their own at home and traditionally we have used it quite a bit in Lebanese cooking.
It is ridiculously easy to make homemade yogurt and will save you money, is fun to make and your family will enjoy it. Milk is made more nutritious by culturing it. You can make your favorite yoghurt in around 12 hours, you can make any amount you want and do it all yourself. This way you’ll know that there are no additives or unwanted preservatives.
You just need milk and a starter culture, and you can save yourself so much money all year round. You do not need any special machines or expensive equipment (yogurt makers, instant pots) and you can make it at home in your kitchen whenever you want to. The first time you make it, you will need a starter culture which is the store-bought natural or Greek yogurt and you can use fresh milk or even powdered milk if you wish to.
It is so easy, you simply boil the milk to 180 degrees fernheit to deactivate any competing bacteria and enzymes present, cool it to around 43°Celcius or 110° Fahrenheit and mix in the culture and let the lactose ferment to produce a nice, rich, thick and creamy yoghurt.
