For those unfamiliar with this centuries-old tradition, the procession of Senhor dos Passos departs from the Parish Church of Santa Clara do Torrão, in the municipality of Marco de Canaveses, crosses the bridge over the Tâmega River, and heads towards the Chapel of S. Sebastião, in Entre-os-Rios, Penafiel (NORTH OF PORTUGAL)
The banks of the Tâmega and Douro rivers, as well as the boats and the entire procession route, are lit by candles, creating a unique and moving atmosphere. 😍🕯️
