MPs listen in silence as Michelle Thomson recalled being raped as a teenager. The independent MP told the House of Commons: "I was crying, I was cold and I shivering and I now realise that was the shock response. I did not tell my mother, I did not tell my father. I did not my friends, and I did not tell the police."
The Speaker said her speech, in a debate about eliminating violence against women, had "left an indelible impression on us all."
