Hope everybody enjoyed Glasgow 1973! I tell you - that was an awesome show, and it's great everybody liked it! Puts a smile on my face seeing everybody happy. Now, for this upload, I'm sure a specific person will be very happy because he requested I upload this. This is a shout-out to Ethan (E/C productions). He wanted me to upload all the available audio from Queen's last show on the Races Tour (the second Earls Court show). Since I didn't have a good reason not to do that - I obliged!
This six track upload comes from various sources (ranging from pro-shot video, to a bonus track on the 2011 re-issue of A Night At The Opera) of varying quality (ranging from listenable to excellent). While this isn't enough to fully judge the gig, what we have are great performances that are stronger than the previous night! Imagine the whole gig... It could be something amazing!
These performances reveal the band sounding fantastic and Freddie sounding pretty strong overall (he sounds more stable compared with the previous night)! Now... time to talk about the performances!
"Killer Queen" is a solid version with the phrasing being good, "'39" is a great performance overall (although this has possible corrections since this was sourced from an official source), what we have of "You Take My Breath Away" is solid, the "Vocal Improvisation" sounds really good, and the "Lucille/Jailhouse Rock Medley" sounds fantastic with the performance ranking high by fans due to the great musicianship on stage, and the strong vocal performance by Freddie!
ENJOY!!!
