US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo praised the UK’s hardening posture toward China after London banned Huawei from building its 5G network and suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong as a reaction to the newly implemented national security law in the city. Speaking at a press conference on July 21, 2020, during a visit to the UK, Pompeo also called for a global coalition against China.
