It can be quite surprising for new moms to witness their baby spitting up after nursing. This video will guide you on what is spit up, why do babies spit up, and when to call the paediatrician. Fret not! Spitting up is abolutely normal and harmless for most infants.
Many babies spit up, and at times they can spit up a lot. Sometimes spit up can occur because they’ve taken too much air from the breast or the bottle. Sometimes it can occur because they’ve taken more milk than they can tolerate. It's also important to know that there's a difference between spitting up and vomiting. So spit up is something that’s okay, but if you notice signs like your baby crying after a feeding session, if he doesn't feed properly or if he sleeps less, then that's something you would want to talk to your doctor about immediately.
