Twenty years ago, on Aug. 14, 2003, a series of power failures in Ohio triggered the biggest blackout North America has ever seen.
Ten million Canadians were impacted by the power outage — some of whom were left without electricity for more than two days — resulting in panic and stockpiling across Toronto and the surrounding area.
On the 20th anniversary, Global's Catherine McDonald spoke with Torontonians about their recollections of the power outages.
